Meet the team
Bekkii leads the ministry team (4 days a week) of the Bayswater and Boronia Community Churches of Christ. She, alongside our Elders (from our congregations), provides leadership, vision and direction for the congregations at Boronia and the recently merged, Bayswater churches of Christ. Bekkii also loves God, good coffee, and working in collaborative, imaginative teams.
Joanne gives oversight and leadership to our pastoral care systems, small groups, and the oversight of our chapel congregation (3 ½ days) at the Boronia Campus. She also offers leadership and oversight to a number of ministries that serve our mature congregation members, many of whom have retired or are nearing retirement. Day trippers, Sunday Lunches, and other activities also fall under Joanne's leadership.
Kate, our Generations Minister (3 days), is responsible for our Wednesday night congregation called Formation, Young Adult discipleship and training (including training and leading our Kids Quest Leaders), and our Friday afternoon kids program. Kate also has the role of youth and young adult communications. She loves gaming, adventures and being with kids and young people.
Interim Associate Minister
Drew has joined us as our Interim Associate Minister at the Bayswater campus (3 days). Drew is the Chapel and Connections services minister responsible for pastoral community care. He is also our Community meals Bayswater contact person. Drew loves good coffee, playing sport, going for runs and walking through the Hills.
Tania is our Children's Minister (1 day). She facilitates our Sunday "Hub Club" activity groups (Sunday School). These groups are currently run online, through zoom and our facebook page (restricted access). These groups include a worship, teaching and communion time with the kids on Sunday afternoon at 2pm and also a worship time on Wednesday afternoon on zoom at 4pm. The children are our next generation of leaders and are encouraged to learn, explore and develop their gifts or talents within this space. Tania enjoys baking, a good cup of tea, music and games, whether board games or console/computer games.
Hub Play Cafe Manager
Hannah manages the Hub Play Cafe (3 days). The cafe provides a great space for people to come and catch up over coffee and scones, have a great morning tea, or enjoy a delicious lunch. Hannah is a terrific cook and does a wonderful job at making people feel welcome and included.
She is also involved in Community Engagement, which involves organising events and finding ways to connect in with the local community. Hannah loves being around people, cooking, gardening, drinking tea and being outdoors.
Welcome and Community Integration
Simon is our Welcome and Community Integration Minister (1 ½ days). He assists people who are new to our community to find their place via connecting with a small group, Men’s Breakfast, or Communion Connect group. Simon also facilitates our Discovery Lunches, providing a space for new people to find out more about the mission, values, and ministries of the church. He loves chatting about faith, drinking coffee, and playing basketball.
Office Manager and Communications
Jill facilitates the smooth operation of our office. As the Office Manager and Communications person (2 days), she takes care of a lot of the behind the scenes things that help to keep our church going. Jill maintains our website, keeps our Facebook pages running smoothly, and is one of the first people that people meet when they communicate with our church.
Board Chair and Church Administrator
David is our volunteer church administrator, and Chair of the Board. He is vital in supporting the ministry staff in a number of important ways. David works tirelessly behind the scenes in a number of administrative areas to ensure that our church effectively utilises its skills and giftings.
