Meet the team

Bekkii Scott
Team Leader
Bekkii leads the ministry team (4 days a week) of the Bayswater and Boronia Community Churches of Christ. She, alongside our Elders (from our congregations), provides leadership, vision and direction for the congregations at Boronia and the recently merged, Bayswater churches of Christ. Bekkii also loves God, good coffee, and working in collaborative, imaginative teams.

Joanne Vanderee
Associate Minister
Joanne gives oversight and leadership to our pastoral care systems, small groups, and the oversight of our chapel congregation (3 ½ days) at the Boronia Campus. She also offers leadership and oversight to a number of ministries that serve our mature congregation members, many of whom have retired or are nearing retirement. Day trippers, Sunday Lunches, and other activities also fall under Joanne's leadership.

Kate Alexander
Generations Minister
Kate, our Generations Minister (3 days), is responsible for our Wednesday night congregation called Formation, Young Adult discipleship and training (including training and leading our Kids Quest Leaders), and our Friday afternoon kids program. Kate also has the role of youth and young adult communications. She loves gaming, adventures and being with kids and young people.

Drew Nicholls
Associate Minister
Drew has joined us as our Interim Associate Minister at the Bayswater campus (3 days). Drew is the Chapel and Connections services minister responsible for pastoral community care. He is also our Community meals Bayswater contact person. Drew loves good coffee, playing sport, going for runs and walking through the Hills.

Tania Rose
Children's Minister
Tania is our Children's Minister (1 day). She facilitates our Sunday "Hub Club" activity groups (Sunday School). These groups are currently run online, through zoom and our facebook page (restricted access). These groups include a worship, teaching and communion time with the kids on Sunday afternoon at 2pm and also a worship time on Wednesday afternoon on zoom at 4pm. The children are our next generation of leaders and are encouraged to learn, explore and develop their gifts or talents within this space. Tania enjoys baking, a good cup of tea, music and games, whether board games or console/computer games.

Hannah Rowse
Hospitality and Community Engagement Minister
Hannah manages the Hub Play Cafe. The cafe provides a great space for people to come and catch up over coffee and scones, have a great morning tea, or enjoy a delicious lunch. Hannah is a terrific cook and does a wonderful job at making people feel welcome and included.
She is also involved in Community Engagement, which involves Friday Night community meals at Bayswater, organising events and finding ways to connect with the local community. Hannah loves being around people, cooking, gardening, drinking tea and being outdoors.

Simon Albury
Community Garden and Community Integration Minister
Simon is our Community Garden and Community Integration Minister (2 days). He coordinates our Community Garden at the Bayswater Campus, which opened in 2021 and also works as part of the Admin team.
He loves chatting about faith, drinking coffee, and playing basketball.

Jill Bonsor
Office Manager and Communications
Jill facilitates the smooth operation of our office. As the Office Manager and Communications person (2 days), she takes care of a lot of the behind the scenes things that help to keep our church going. Jill maintains our website, keeps our Facebook pages running smoothly, and is one of the first people that people meet when they communicate with our church.

David Deith
Deputy Board Chair and Church Administrator
David is our volunteer church administrator and Deputy Chair of the Board. He is vital in supporting the ministry staff in a number of important ways. David works tirelessly behind the scenes in a number of administrative areas to ensure that our church effectively utilises its skills and giftings.

Richard Brown
Encore Ministries
Richard is a volunteer with local church experience who assists with our pastoral care programs. RIchard also has a passion for poetry, which he shares with all of our congregations via our “Church in a bag” ministry. He also assists with putting together the DVD, USB, and other elements to get online church to those who don’t have internet access.
